Donna is passionate about looking at problems in different ways and coming up with innovative solutions.

Whether it’s creating a new marketing campaign, coming up with alternative strategies for business, writing engaging blog or advert copy, or engaging students in their learning experience, there’s no half-hearted effort.

Donna’s philosophy of enabling others to think broader and differently has enabled her to lead successful teams, empowered people to help themselves and gain a reputation as a person with strong ethics that will do the right thing.

Her experience stems from managing strategic business units for the UK's biggest bank and the UK's biggest mortgage lender as well as a significant time spent studying marketing and management.

Her favourite saying isn’t by a famous marketing guru, or indeed a master of industry. Instead, it’s Dr Seuss

“People have usually gone into business because they have a real passion for what they’re doing. Then reality of planning, competitors and the like appear and it’s difficult to see the wood for the trees.  Even basic communications with customers can become complex as they can’t convert their expertise into simple language. The boring bit!

Donna Spencer has experience in managing strategic business units for the UK's biggest bank, Lloyds and the UK's biggest mortgage lender, Halifax.

She has worked as a both a sales and as a marketing manager across many products, distribution channels with responsibility for sales targets, acquiring new customers, customer retention and profitability for more than 20 years.

With leadership expertise across large and small teams, including recruitement, performance management, disciplinary and general HR functions, she is pragmatic and people focused with strong problem-solving skills.

Most of all, she is passionate about customer service.

Donna also lectures in International Marketing, Strategic Marketing, Sustainable Marketing and Marketing Management at both graduate and MBA level at James Cook University, Donna's style resonates with students, giving them a learning environment combined with up to date business reality.
